Live. Life. Loved.
The Lord your God, in
the midst of you is mighty.
He will save.
He will rejoice over
you with joy.
He will rest in His
love.
He will joy over you
with singing. -Zephaniah 3:17
Every couple weeks, I change my contacts. When I forget, I
can tell. But the other day a funny thing happened. I HAD just changed them.
But something was off. I wasn’t seeing clearly. I was getting headaches. Things
were distorted. I couldn’t focus. So, I change my contacts again, just to find
out if that would change anything.
It changed everything.
Changed lenses,
Changes perspective.
What was blurry and hard to see,
Was now clearly in focus.
So I bless you to change the lens, the perspective you live
life from.
I bless you to:
Live.
Life.
Loved.
I bless you to choose “to live life from the love of the Beloved
in you. Choose against whatever distracts you, confuses you and puts in jeopardy
the life of the Beloved in you. I bless you to choose to live from the loving
heart of your Father.” (Sylvia Gunter, You are Blessed in the Names of God
#13)
What is the greatest truth? When asked to sum up his life’s
work and theology in a simple statement, the famous theologian Karl Barth replied,
“Jesus loves me, this I know.” That was the greatest truth. As I have changed
perspective and continue to live life from that different lens and focus, live
from that place of being perfectly loved, I understand now why the disciple
John described himself that way. The One whom Jesus loved.
Sometimes when I'm at the end of myself I sing, "Yes, Jesus loves me..." Something about that simple little child's song always lifts my soul. Love this post. Thanks, Kim!
